Tales of Ancient Wisdom

Tales of Ancient Wisdom is a compilation of Taoist/Zen stories that follow the travels of Zin, a peaceful, monk-like hero. Some of the stories are retellings of tales of old, while others are completely new creations. The stories are put together to create a single narrative following the adventures of Zin and his young student, Taro. From advising generals going into battle, to saving a girl who falls into the river, to hauling buckets of water to the fields, Zin is always living in a state of mindful awareness. His insightful observations offer timeless life lessons that can be put to use immediately by anyone.   The book is illustrated by renowned Vermont sumi-e brush artist, Aya Itagaki, who created over 35 unique pieces of artwork to compliment the text.
